Across the world of coffee, there is nowhere quite like Yemen. Qima Coffee was founded with a vision to connect some of the most remote producers in Yemen to the specialty coffee community. Kojafah was grown at staggering altitudes that clim to 2300m. Across this incredible landscape, coffee plants grow slowly, developing truly unique flavour.Â
With innovative production methods and meticulous traceability, Qima has helped transform the lives of farmers who grow coffee in some of the most challenging conditions. Since its establishment, Qima has carried out extensive research to develop a better understanding of coffee varietals in Yemen. Alongside four key populations within Arabica, the Yemenia varietal is a newly discovered line, found exclusively in Yemen. The cup quality was found to be truly exceptional, with cup score that ranked amongst the highest in the world.
